
Auto Glass Installation Technician, Trainee

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Deliver comprehensive vehicle glass repair and replacement services at a Safelite Shop or Mobile Glass Shop with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and outstanding customer service.
• Ensure customer vehicles are cleaned following each job.
• Recalibrate automotive safety systems, including troubleshooting and performing diagnostic tests.
• Skillfully utilize Safelite's tools and technologies, such as True Seal®, Ezi-Wire™, Glass Table System (GTS), and necessary chemicals as per the 'Safelite Way of Fitting', work order, customer administration systems, and Safelite's handheld Mobile Resource Management (MRM) technology.
• Safely drive both company and customer vehicles throughout the workday.
• Engage with all scheduled customers in-person, via text, and over the phone; present, promote, and sell Safelite promotional items and services.
• Carry out additional duties as required.
• Adhere to all company policies and standards.
• High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent preferred.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and any other necessary licenses (as mandated by federal, state, and local regulations) to operate a company vehicle.
• Safelite SafeTech™ certification is required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Capability to consistently lift and carry up to 35 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods, work in confined spaces, and bend or twist the body.
• Proficient in using various hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Competence in operating a motor vehicle in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, along with agreeing to monitoring via in-cab vehicle safety camera/video surveillance technology.
• Demonstrates professionalism and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and surpassing customer expectations.
• Ability to work safely outdoors in diverse weather conditions and extreme temperatures for extended durations.
• Capability to handle chemicals safely (including, but not limited to, flammable substances), as per the 'Safelite Way of Fitting'.
• Flexibility to work scheduled days, adjusting start and end times to meet customer needs.
• Proficient in using computerized diagnostic tools to perform recalibrations and troubleshoot issues.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to read, write, and interpret the English language and technical instructions.
• Excellent verbal (via phone) and written (via computer or other electronic means) communication skills.
• Maintain a professional appearance by adhering to company uniform and PPE policies.
• Willingness to sustain stable performance under professional or personal pressure and/or opposition (e.g., time constraints and productivity demands).
• Competitive weekly starting pay of up to $19.25 per hour.
• Earn $5 for each set of wiper blades added for customer safety.
