This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Carry out a range of tasks related to patient registration, scheduling, and insurance verification.
• Respond to patient phone inquiries with professionalism and efficiency.
• Arrange, modify, and manage patient appointments as needed.
• Conduct patient interviews to gather demographic details, assess eligibility, and collect co-payments.
• Communicate with insurance providers to confirm patients’ insurance eligibility, benefits, and requirements.
• Request, monitor, and secure pre-authorizations from insurance companies.
• Handle insurance authorizations and update patient records accordingly.
• Investigate referrals to approve or deny based on gathered information.
• Accurately document all interactions and communications with providers and personnel.
• High School Diploma or its equivalent.
• Preferred 1 to 2 years of experience in a medical office setting.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology.
• Above-average spelling and typing skills are essential.
• Adept in computer software (including online insurance platforms and DASH) and database management.
• Proficient in using the Microsoft Office suite of products.
• Experience in collaborating across various functions.
• Ability to innovate in a rapidly evolving work environment and manage ambiguity.
