Australian Tax Accountant – Public Practice

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Become a part of a well-established Australian accounting firm in a permanent remote position focused on preparing Australian tax returns, GST/BAS, and financial statements for a variety of business clients.

• Collaborate with Australian accountants in handling taxation and compliance tasks for clients, which include property developers, builders, pharmacy retailers, and medical professionals.

• Generate Australian income tax returns.

• Execute GST/BAS compliance tasks.

• Prepare financial statements.

• Conduct tax compliance work accurately, adhering to Australian tax regulations and firm policies.

• Utilize Xero and HandiLedger to assist in the preparation and support of assigned accounting and tax compliance duties.

• Maintain clear communication with the Australian accounting team regarding the progress and status of assigned projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in preparing Australian tax returns, GST/BAS, and financial statements for an Australian accounting firm.

• Hands-on experience with Xero.

• Practical knowledge of HandiLedger.

• An accounting degree is required.

• CA or CPA accreditation, or actively pursuing a recognized CA or CPA qualification.

• Excellent spoken and written English skills.

• Strong attention to detail with the capability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

• Preferred but not mandatory: Experience with MYOB.

• Familiarity with HandiTax.

• Experience working with property developers, builders, pharmacy retailers, or medical professionals.

• Comprehensive experience across Australian business services and tax compliance.
