This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +8 more states.
• The Audience and Marketing Specialist will report to the Audience and Marketing Director, focusing on social media and video content creation, project management, audience engagement strategies, and other strategic initiatives.
• Compose, edit, and publish daily social media posts across Meta Suite, LinkedIn, Twitter, Bluesky, and various other platforms.
• Collaborate closely with editorial, podcast, and newsletter teams to transform editorial content into captivating social media copy, captions, threads, and promotional clips.
• Develop and oversee a content calendar that includes podcast launches, editorial campaigns, guest announcements, trending topics, and evergreen content.
• Select, edit, and package short video clips from podcasts and editorial projects for platforms such as Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, TikTok, and others.
• Assist in executing platform strategies to enhance reach and engagement, while tracking social media performance through native analytics, GA4, Airtable dashboards, or comparable tools.
• 2–3 years of experience in managing social media channels for a media brand, newsroom, nonprofit, or a similar organization.
• Background in news, journalism, or mission-driven storytelling.
• Knowledge of podcast promotional strategies.
• Strong writing and editing capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and remotely while remaining accountable for job responsibilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Adept at multitasking in a dynamic environment.
• Proficient in basic video editing for social media, including trimming, captioning, light formatting, and simple exports using tools such as CapCut, Descript, Premiere Rush, or similar.
• Capable of creating simple graphics using Canva, Adobe Express, or similar software.
• Skilled in data analysis and performance metrics—understanding their significance beyond just numbers.
• Strong organizational skills across multiple platforms in a fast-paced setting.
• Collaborative, communicative, and dependable, particularly in a remote or hybrid work environment.
• Naturally curious about audience behavior across newsletters, podcasts, SEO, platform dynamics, and how independent media achieves sustainable reach.
