Atlassian Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Oversee the technical and operational aspects of our Atlassian service stack, specifically Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management.

• Ensure stable, secure, and scalable operations while continuously developing the Atlassian platform.

• Provide advice on implementing processes and requirements, acting as a collaborative partner for system owners, product owners, business units, and IT management.

• Gather, assess, and systematically implement both functional and technical requirements.

• Design, customize, and enhance Jira and Confluence configurations including workflows, screens, fields, permissions, and project/space structures.

• Develop and maintain automation processes (e.g., Jira Automation, ScriptRunner).

• Integrate and configure popular Atlassian Marketplace applications.

• Establish standards, governance rules, and best practices for effective platform usage.

• Assist teams in utilizing Atlassian tools efficiently and effectively.

• Identify opportunities for optimization in operations, processes, licensing, and costs.

• Produce clear technical documentation to facilitate sustainable knowledge development.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive expertise in building, operating, and managing the Atlassian Cloud platform, particularly with Jira (especially Jira Service Management) and Confluence, with over 5 years of experience.

• Strong proficiency in customizing complex Jira setups, including workflows, permissions, fields, boards, and automations.

• Experience with Jira Service Management and a solid grasp of ITSM processes (ITIL knowledge is a plus), along with familiarity with Rovo and common AI tools and implementations.

• Technical expertise in extensions and integrations such as ScriptRunner, Xray, JMWE, and REST APIs.

• Ideally, experience with Jira Assets.

• Ability to organize, prioritize, and translate complex requirements into sustainable solutions.

• Strong understanding of governance, standardization, and platform operations.

• Independent and solution-oriented work approach with high-quality standards.

• Clear, service-oriented communication skills and confidence in engaging with various stakeholders.

• Proficiency in German at C1 level and good command of English.
