This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Provide senior leadership in delivering multiple concurrent enterprise technology programs.

• Assess program health concerning scope, schedule, budget, resources, dependencies, risks, and business readiness.

• Challenge assumptions regarding delivery and ensure that plans accurately reflect both technical and business complexities.

• Identify potential issues before they impact milestones, budgets, or business outcomes.

• Assist in the recovery and stabilization of programs that are at risk.

• Act as an escalation and problem-solving partner prior to the need for executive intervention.

• Mentor and coach Project and Program Managers.

• Aid in developing integrated schedules, critical paths, resource plans, dependency maps, and recovery strategies.

• Enhance capabilities in executive communication, financial management, risk management, testing governance, cutover planning, and stakeholder leadership.

• Promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the Project Management community.

• Conduct independent delivery health reviews and stage-gate readiness assessments.

• Review data conversion, enterprise integrations, testing, security, archival, cutover, and production readiness.

• Ensure that risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies, and decisions are documented, assigned, and actively managed.

• Validate the executive reporting on the health and outlook of initiatives.

• Suggest corrective actions, scope decisions, sequencing, and readiness for go-live.

• Coordinate capacity, sequencing, and cross-program dependencies with the Agile (SAFe) Manager.

• Identify conflicts related to shared resources, environments, vendors, release windows, and technical platforms.

• Integrate Agile delivery practices with governance for extensive, multi-year programs.

• Align delivery plans with strategic priorities and operational constraints.

• Support portfolio-level reporting and executive decision-making.

• Establish and enhance scalable delivery standards for Agile and hybrid programs.

• Define expectations for schedules, financial controls, risk management, testing, cutover, governance, and executive reporting.

• Implement practical improvements to address recurring delivery challenges.

• Advocate for the effective use of metrics, tools, and delivery data to enhance predictability and accountability.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in leading enterprise technology programs.

• Significant responsibility for complex implementations across various technical competencies.

• Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, rather than just a single implementation.

• Proven track record in delivering initiatives across diverse areas including ERP, HRIS, payroll, finance, workforce management systems, enterprise integrations, middleware, data platforms, data conversion, migration, archival, cloud platforms, infrastructure, large-scale application modernization, cybersecurity, controls, or regulatory compliance.

• Experience overseeing programs with multi-million-dollar budgets, large cross-functional teams, multiple vendors, and executive governance.

• Strong understanding of the complete delivery lifecycle: discovery, planning, requirements, design, build, testing, deployment, cutover, warranty, and operational transition.

• Ability to evaluate challenged programs and formulate actionable recovery plans.

• Experience in coaching senior Project and Program Managers without direct reporting authority.

• Successful completion of a background check as a condition of employment.
