Associate Solicitor – Corporate Law

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Deliver clear, commercially-oriented legal counsel and support to SME and business clients across a wide spectrum of corporate issues, which include:

• - Corporate restructures (such as share for share exchanges, demergers)

• - Company and business sales and acquisitions

• - Investments and share issuances

• - Corporate governance

• Prepare, review, and negotiate a diverse array of corporate documents, including shareholders’ agreements, articles of association, loan agreements, and share purchase agreements.

• Foster strong, trusted partnerships with clients by taking the time to understand their commercial goals and providing pragmatic, customized legal solutions.

• Engage actively in business development efforts, which involve:

• - Supporting pitches and proposals

• - Identifying opportunities to enhance existing client relationships

• - Attending networking events and participating in activities that raise our profile

• - Nurturing your own developing client relationships over time

• Collaborate with accountancy partners within the Sumer group to ensure high-quality, integrated client service.

⛳️ Requirements

• Qualified solicitor in England & Wales with approximately 2–4 years of PQE in corporate law.

• Substantial experience advising on various corporate transactions, particularly for SMEs, founders, and owner-managed businesses.

• A commercial perspective with the capacity to offer practical, solutions-oriented advice.

• Strong drafting and negotiation capabilities across different corporate documents.

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines efficiently.

• An interest in and talent for business development, with a readiness to engage in networking, client relationship building, and contributing to growth initiatives.

• A collaborative mindset, with the confidence to work closely with colleagues across legal and accountancy teams to provide a seamless experience.
