This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Oversee a comprehensive portfolio of annual maintenance accounts and/or projects, ensuring all contracted services are performed, including client communication and compliance with permits.
• Assess site and waterbody conditions, and independently execute aquatic pesticide applications that align with site conditions, permit requirements, and contracted services.
• Operate various types of watercraft and all-terrain equipment effectively.
• Manage product utilization and labor expenses within the established program or project budget.
• Accurately calculate aquatic pesticide dosage and quantity based on product labels to ensure safe and effective control of target species.
• Engage in District fisheries work as needed.
• Conduct baseline waterbody assessments and collect biological data, including temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH, alkalinity, water quality samples, algae samples, and aquatic plant identification.
• Assist District operations by maintaining routine communication with clients and attending HOA and regulatory meetings as necessary.
• Deliver proactive and innovative management recommendations to portfolio clients.
• Support the manager (DM/OM) and/or technical staff (PM/Biologist) in program evaluation, modification, and design.
• Contribute to project data analysis and annual report writing under the guidance of technical staff.
• Create technical reports for high-profile, innovative, or particularly successful projects, such as case studies, white papers, and industry presentations.
• Aid in the innovation of service techniques and the evaluation of new pond/lake products, equipment, and strategies.
• Assist Project Managers with technical writing tasks, including permit project narratives, competitive bid responses, and annual client monitoring reports.
• Under the supervision of senior technical staff, design and conduct biological evaluations to gather data for the development of customized management plans.
• Provide technical support to BDC, colleagues, and clients as required.
• Help the Operations Manager understand project logistical needs and scheduling.
• Utilize GPS equipment to document target plant locations, calculate treatment areas, and log treatment tracks.
• Utilize ArcView GIS software to create maps of vegetation and treatment areas to aid customer portfolios.
• Support larger one-time projects, including but not limited to material procurement, equipment rental, staff coordination, and planning.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Over 5 years of directly relevant work experience.
• Certification in safe boating.
• US DOT Medical Card.
• Valid state pesticide Aquatic category certification for all states served by the District.
• Expert understanding of aquatic pesticide usage, application methods, and dosing strategies.
• Technical knowledge of SOLitude services and their operational execution.
• Familiarity with survey and field data collection methodologies.
• Comprehensive understanding of aquatic ecosystems and general aquatic plant and algae biology.
• Knowledge of the functions and applications of fountain, aeration, and oxygenation systems.
• Proficient in water quality sampling and data interpretation.
• Awareness of state regulatory requirements and constraints applicable to the District.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment background screening.
• Must hold a valid driver's license and pass a motor vehicle record check.
