Associate Professor, Accounting – Academic Program Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee the strategy, operations, and support for the accounting degree program.

• Act as the primary representative and information source for both faculty and students in the program.

• Initiate and approve modifications to enhance program quality, student engagement, and success.

• Serve as the leading discipline expert and main contact for various stakeholders.

• Collaborate with program faculty to bolster student success.

• Conduct program assessments alongside the Director of Assessment.

• Integrate trends and changes into the curriculum with the Director of Curriculum.

• Engage in course development, updates, and maintenance.

• Meet with College leadership to ensure the program aligns with University and College objectives.

• Teach and develop accounting courses, both online and onsite.

• Maintain expertise in pedagogy and subject matter.

• Foster an inclusive learning environment for a diverse group of adult learners.

• Ensure that course and program practices adhere to compliance and accreditation standards.

• Maintain a robust scholarship agenda and participate in scholarly activities.

• Engage in professional development opportunities.

• Take part in curriculum oversight, shared governance, student experience, committees, program meetings, advisory boards, and community activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A terminal degree (DBA, Ph.D.) in accounting or a related field is required.

• Certifications in accounting or a related discipline, such as CPA or CMA, are necessary.

• A minimum of 5 years of full-time faculty teaching experience in higher education is required.

• At least 5 years of practical experience is needed.

• Experience with online delivery methods in higher education is required.

• Experience in program and course development is preferred.

• A background check is mandatory.

• A statement detailing teaching experience online and/or onsite for a diverse student body is required.
