Associate Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Acquire knowledge and actively participate in the automation of production infrastructure utilizing Ansible and Terraform.

• Aid in the development and maintenance of cloud-native services across VKE VLB and VCR.

• Cultivate practical expertise with Kubernetes and container runtimes through guided project assignments.

• Create and enhance tools and scripts (Go, Python, Bash) to facilitate platform operations.

• Provide support for CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes for platform services.

• Investigate issues within networking containers and Linux systems with curiosity and determination.

• Contribute to Vultr's open-source tools and libraries under the mentorship of senior engineers.

• Engage in on-call rotations and incident response to gain operational experience.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

• Familiarity with at least one programming or scripting language (Go, Python, Bash, or similar).

• Basic understanding of Linux systems and command-line operations.

• Interest in cloud infrastructure, containers, and Kubernetes (previous experience is not mandatory).

• Strong problem-solving abilities and a readiness to explore unfamiliar systems.

• Excellent communication skills and the capability to collaborate effectively in a remote team environment.
