Associate Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain the infrastructure and services that support Kohl’s applications.

• Create, test, deploy, and continuously enhance platform capabilities, features, and APIs.

• Utilize critical thinking, experimentation, data analysis, user feedback, and industry best practices to achieve desired business results.

• Contribute to the development and integration of secure, high-quality platform services.

• Oversee all technical aspects of the platform services lifecycle, including code, infrastructure, data, security, CI/CD, and documentation.

• Optimize CI/CD pipelines, enhance monitoring and logging frameworks, and contribute to the overall architecture of the platform.

• Build scalable, reliable, and secure platforms that support Kohl’s expanding business requirements.

• Streamline development workflows, enhance system performance, and ensure high service availability.

• Collaborate with the SRE team to ensure platforms adhere to their SLAs and SLOs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Basic knowledge of continuous integration, continuous deployment, and test-driven development.

• Fundamental understanding of automation technologies utilized for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

• Proven ability to quickly learn new technologies or techniques.

• Open-minded problem-solving approach focused on customer needs.

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).

• Basic familiarity with application design patterns, event-driven architecture, and testing methodologies.

• Experience with major cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure).

• Familiarity with Kubernetes-based container platforms (OpenShift, GKE, EKS, etc.).

• Experience with IaC automation tools such as OpenTofu, Ansible, Open Policy Agent (OPA), Packer, GitLab CI, Python, and others.
