This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Establish, nurture, and enhance relationships with patient advocacy organizations, professional medical societies, healthcare providers, and other external partners.
• Create and execute strategies that align with business goals, therapeutic area priorities, and the needs of patients and healthcare professionals.
• Assist in educational initiatives that address gaps within designated therapeutic areas.
• Work in tandem with marketing, clinical development, medical affairs, public policy, and compliance teams.
• Participate in patient advocacy and medical society meetings and events, delivering actionable insights internally.
• Act as a representative for patients and the patient advocacy function in cross-functional team discussions.
• Identify opportunities for collaboration that involve patient registries, app technology, patient surveys, and similar initiatives.
• Collaborate with patients on editorial and short-form publications that highlight the patient experience.
• Gather feedback from patients and caregivers through advisory panels, surveys, and qualitative medical research.
• Comply with patient advocacy compliance documents and standard operating procedures; write, edit, and approve internal documentation.
• Gain an understanding of FDA guidance on patient-focused drug development and patient preference research; provide education to colleagues through training.
• Establish a leadership presence in patient advocacy and engage with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Serve as the project manager for assigned areas.
• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field with over 5 years of experience in customer-facing roles within the pharmaceutical industry, or a Master's Degree with at least 3 years of such experience, or a PhD or PharmD.
• Familiarity with compliance and regulatory frameworks.
• Exceptional empathy and thoughtfulness in supporting and collaborating with patients.
• Demonstrated ability to be proactive, resourceful, and to take initiative.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, OneDrive, Skype, Zoom, or other online meeting platforms.
• Comprehensive knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and practices.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
• Preferred: Master's Degree in a relevant field, PhD, or PharmD.
• Preferred: More than 2 years of experience leading or supporting patient advocacy initiatives and/or engaging with medical societies.
