Associate Medical Director, Med-Psych - Part-Time

📋 Description

• Accompany Health Med-Psych Associate Medical Directors (AMDs) serve as essential clinical leaders, providing support to patients and care teams across both our Standard and Complex Care models.

• You will collaborate with health advocates, physicians, nurses, behavioral health clinicians, and pharmacists to ensure coordinated, whole-person care for patients facing complex medical, behavioral, and social challenges.

• In your role as a Med-Psych AMD, you will provide clinical supervision to Med-Psych and Psych Advanced Practice Clinicians (APCs) and their care pods, working alongside APC Managers, the Executive Medical Director of Integrated Clinical Services, and Behavioral Health Managers.

• Additionally, you will deliver virtual mental and physical health care through video, phone, and text communications.

• Within the Standard Model, you will lead the provision of integrated behavioral health services for patients with mild to moderate mental health and substance use issues, utilizing the evidence-based Collaborative Care Model.

• Acting as the psychiatric consultant, you will be supported by Med-Psych APCs and behavioral health clinicians, collaborating with primary care providers and APCs to provide patient-centered, measurement-based, treatment-to-target care.

• You will also oversee med-psychiatric APCs who are offering e-consults for diagnostic clarity and medication management.

• In the High-Risk Advanced Behavioral Health Model, you will be responsible for providing both direct and consultative care to a limited panel of patients with serious mental illnesses and/or severe substance use disorders.

• You will support and supervise Med-Psychiatric APCs as they deliver both primary medical and behavioral health care, ensuring that multidisciplinary care plans are established to reduce unnecessary utilization and enhance patients' days spent healthy at home.


⛳️ Requirements

• MD or DO in Psychiatry with dual Board Certification in Psychiatry and Internal Medicine/Family Medicine.

• Fellowship in consult liaison Psychiatry is a plus.

• Fellowship or additional training/experience in addiction medicine is advantageous.

• Comfort and experience in addressing both psychiatric and medical needs for patients are essential.

• Active Medical License in the state of employment and a willingness to obtain additional licensure as needed.

• Proven experience in building and leading multidisciplinary teams, supervising clinical team members, and having held leadership and/or administrative roles within clinical organizations or innovative care models.

• Familiarity with change management and process improvement theories, techniques, and their practical applications.

• Experience utilizing a metrics-driven approach to evaluate cost, quality, and satisfaction data to inform clinical strategy and program redesign.

• Proficiency in working with electronic medical records.

• A valid unrestricted driver's license and access to an insured vehicle for daily transportation.

• At least 3 years of experience in an outpatient mental health practice and/or primary care setting (Preferred).

• Experience or additional training in Collaborative Care models (Preferred).

• Experience supervising Advanced Practice Clinicians (Preferred).

• Familiarity with value-based care settings and/or managed care, including the ability to assess STARS/HEDIS measures accurately, diagnose and code clinical comorbidities, and identify clinical care gaps (Preferred).
