This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide assistance in the development, maintenance, and auditing of financial models for tax equity transactions, gaining experience with partnership flip and T-flip structures.
• Aid in the creation of investment materials for the Investment Committee, encompassing transaction economics, sensitivities, and risk assessments.
• Collaborate closely with Senior Managers, Principals, and the Senior Principal on structuring transactions, executing deals, and coordinating activities.
• Evaluate sponsor financial statements, project agreements, and due diligence materials to identify potential risks and value drivers.
• Utilize technology and AI-driven tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency in modeling, due diligence, and reporting tasks.
• Participate in process enhancements and standardization of templates across the Investments team.
• Support limited external communications with developers, investors, and advisors under the supervision of senior team members.
• Assist with portfolio management and reporting as required, including tracking project performance against underwriting metrics.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline; an MBA or MS is a plus.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in renewable energy, structured finance, infrastructure investing, or a closely related area; some familiarity with tax equity concepts is preferred but not mandatory.
• Proficient in Excel, with the ability to build and navigate complex financial models; knowledge of VBA or Python is advantageous.
• Basic understanding of tax equity structures (such as partnership flip and T-flip) or a strong willingness to quickly learn this knowledge.
• Previous exposure to IRS requirements, safe harbor tests, or recapture provisions is a plus but not essential.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the capability to manage multiple workflows in a dynamic environment.
• Comfortable with adopting new technology platforms and integrating AI tools into daily tasks.
• FINRA SIE, Series 79, and 63 certifications, or a willingness to obtain them under Crux’s broker-dealer sponsorship.
• We fully cover 100% of premiums for employees with a selection of plans available through Aetna (nationwide) and Kaiser (WA and California), and subsidize 70% for dependents (total as a group), if applicable.
