This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +8 more states.
β’ Provide specialized legal counsel to executive leadership and senior management on various legal issues, including HIPAA, TEFCA, privacy, intellectual property, and other pertinent laws.
β’ Formulate and execute legal and regulatory strategies that support current and future business initiatives and product offerings.
β’ Negotiate, draft, and manage contracts with clients, vendors, and partners, ensuring advantageous terms and adherence to relevant obligations.
β’ Advise on healthcare data acquisition, licensing, commercialization, interoperability, and strategic partnerships involving data assets.
β’ Supervise license contract templates and approval workflows.
β’ Establish, manage, and maintain relationships with outside legal counsel as needed.
β’ Regularly consult with Millimanβs Global Corporate Services team(s) to ensure alignment with legal and regulatory requirements.
β’ Collaborate with and provide counsel to various internal departments (Product, IT Security, Sales, Account Management, and Operations) to support MedInsight's needs.
β’ Oversee MedInsight's policies and processes for client, vendor, and partner contracts, ensuring ongoing process optimization and proper day-to-day management by business operations managers.
β’ Define annual objectives and goals for MedInsight's legal and regulatory compliance, establish KPIs, monitor performance, and adapt plans flexibly to achieve high-performance outcomes.
β’ Active member of the State Bar in good standing.
β’ Over 10 years of experience in a senior in-house legal position within the healthcare sector, preferably with experience in healthcare technology or data commercialization.
β’ Comprehensive understanding of legal areas including healthcare data privacy, clinical data acquisition and interoperability, consumer and data protection, AI and emerging technology governance, as well as data licensing and commercialization agreements.
β’ Proven track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with executives, internal partners, and external stakeholders.
β’ Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong ability to engage with executives and stakeholders to influence significant decisions.
