Associate General Counsel – Global Commercial Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead and expand the global commercial legal function across North America, EMEA, and APAC.

• Develop clear standards for commercial risk and negotiation frameworks that facilitate enterprise growth while ensuring disciplined governance.

• Act as the final authority on commercial risk within established thresholds, collaborating with the Chief Legal Officer on enterprise-level issues.

• Provide support for complex enterprise transactions in regulated industries and international markets.

• Build and cultivate a high-performing, multi-jurisdictional team that offers legal support in commercial, privacy, and procurement areas.

• Enhance leadership capabilities within the function to create depth in succession planning and operational independence.

• Design an AI First legal operations strategy that responsibly utilizes AI to enhance contract review, knowledge management, and workflow automation.

• Integrate Data-Driven Decision Making by establishing quantifiable KPIs for contract cycle time, risk trends, and negotiation performance.

• Collaborate with Sales, Go-To-Market, Finance, Security, and Product leadership to expedite deal velocity while maintaining integrity.

⛳️ Requirements

• Qualified lawyer in the UK/EU or US.

• Over 12 years of legal experience, including substantial in-house leadership roles in technology or SaaS sectors.

• Proven track record in managing a commercial legal function or significant sub-function at scale.

• Extensive experience in negotiating complex, cross-border enterprise agreements.
