
Associate General Counsel – Commercial Contracts

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Prepare, evaluate, and negotiate a range of commercial contracts, including data agreements, customer agreements, strategic agreements, online terms and conditions, subscription agreements, and non-disclosure agreements.
• Assess, interpret, and update existing contract templates to guarantee adherence to current laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Track and evaluate privacy laws and regulations, focusing on data protection policies and practices.
• Undertake special projects as required.
• Bachelor of Laws (LLB), Juris Doctor (JD), or equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Authorized to practice law in Ontario and a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in a law firm or a combination of law firm and in-house roles, focusing on drafting and negotiating contracts.
• Strong knowledge of several essential areas of law, including contract law, corporate law, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, and data privacy law as it pertains to the data and technology sectors.
• Proven ability to manage a significant volume of contracts efficiently.
• Familiarity with AI/ML issues is an advantage.
