This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee a range of litigation and pre-litigation issues, including restrictive covenant disputes, insurance regulatory matters, potential errors and omissions (E&O) and professional liability risks, as well as general commercial conflicts;
• Provide direction and advice regarding litigation while acting as the main point of contact for outside counsel, overseeing litigation strategies, budgets, and results across various firms and jurisdictions;
• Issue cease-and-desist notices, organize notifications to new employers, and assist in the associated litigation strategy;
• Investigate and manage E&O and broker/agency error risks, which includes liaising with the Company’s E&O insurer, providing guidance on broker-of-record terminations and client notifications, and communicating with claimants and opposing legal counsel;
• Draft and assess litigation holds, ensuring prompt issuance, tracking, and adherence;
• Compile quarterly updates on litigation and claims for executive management, advising Regional Presidents and senior leaders on litigation risks and strategies;
• Assess potential legal risks and make critical decisions for all business lines.
• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and active membership in the bar of at least one state;
• Over 3 years of litigation experience in a law firm and/or in-house setting, demonstrating excellent communication and relationship-building abilities along with a strong work ethic;
• Prior experience in insurance defense and restrictive covenants is highly desirable;
• Employment law experience is a significant advantage;
• Familiarity with Smartsheets and Claude is beneficial;
• Detail-oriented with exceptional legal judgment and strong organizational capabilities;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Capable of effectively addressing complex, confidential, and sensitive issues;
• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and time management skills;
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines;
• Strong work ethic characterized by a high level of professionalism, with a proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
