Associate Faculty – Data Designing/Architect, Part Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Data Management/Analytics or similar fields in line with University learning goals and course syllabi.

• Present course material, learning activities, and student assessments utilizing the latest University course resources.

• Offer supplementary insights and practical applications of course topics.

• Ensure timely availability of class materials and provide prompt instruction and discussions.

• Maintain an active online classroom presence and quickly respond to student questions.

• Foster a supportive learning atmosphere and address academic challenges faced by students.

• Mentor, tutor, and identify additional resources to enhance student learning.

• Supervise clinical, practicum, or mentorship experiences as necessary.

• Participate in faculty meetings, content area discussions, University functions, and student graduation ceremonies.

• Stay updated with course modifications, instructional standards, and pertinent University information.

• Keep current professional and technical expertise through employment, certifications/licensure, conferences, publications, networks, and professional organizations.

• Teach and perform related tasks in an online setting while maintaining active faculty status and adapting to technological advancements.

• Execute other assigned or apparent duties.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience as a Data Designer/Architect.

• Doctorate in Data Management/Analytics or Data Sciences; or a doctorate in another field with 18 graduate credits in Data Analytics, Data Sciences, Information Management, or a related discipline.

• Alternatively, a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Data Analytics, Data Sciences, Information Assurance, or a closely related field.

• A Master’s degree or higher.

• Alternatively, at least 10 years of professional experience in Data Analytics, Data Sciences, Information Assurance, or a directly related field, including Data/Information Management, Informatics/Data Analytics, associated IT processes, or IT staff roles as a primary job function, with 5 years in a managerial position or higher.

• Degree must be obtained from a regionally accredited institution.

• Professional IT experience must directly relate to the content area.

• Proficiency in database development and SQL programming.

• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or IBM DB2.

• Knowledge of SQL programming, informatics, and/or SQL applications in data management, reporting, or analytics.

• Experience in data/information management, informatics/data analytics, database processes, or related IT staff responsibilities as a primary job function.

• Professional experience with Entity Relationship Diagrams or data normalization.

• Experience in developing and maintaining databases with at least one enterprise-level database platform.

• Active engagement in the content area within the last 3 years.

• Graduate faculty must have one qualifying scholarship record within the last 5 years; those not currently meeting this requirement may achieve compliance within one year of content-area approval.

• Familiarity with adult education teaching and learning theories.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

• Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Proficiency in technology, including Microsoft suite applications.

• Capability to project a professional image and represent the University appropriately.
