This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Oversee the design and ongoing enhancement of the corporate transportation network, which encompasses inbound, interplant, and outbound shipping routes.
• Assess node locations, modal combinations (such as HWA, Truckload, Less-Than-Truckload, and Parcel), as well as carrier allocation and service level strategies.
• Work in partnership with the RTX data teams and supporting departments to advance the transportation digital twin and network simulation tools.
• Lead continuous 'what-if' scenario planning to alleviate supply chain disruptions, adjust to changes in customer demand, and evaluate the effects of fuel price variations or infrastructure modifications.
• Identify and implement strategic initiatives aimed at minimizing total landed costs while consistently meeting or surpassing stringent delivery Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Provide organized project management support for enterprise-level logistics projects that focus on cross-business transportation optimization, enhancing efficiency via best practices and advanced technologies from third-party logistics providers.
• Promote alignment and collaboration across OneRTX Logistics workstreams—including Strategic Sourcing, Data & Systems Design, Network Design, and Business Logistics teams—throughout all stages of project planning and execution.
• Coordinate internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless execution of logistics programs and achieve measurable outcomes.
• Lead and assist in the brainstorming, modeling, and design of transportation network solutions in collaboration with logistics engineering.
• Guide initiatives from conception through implementation to realize savings and performance enhancements.
• Strengthen relationships with logistics providers through structured performance management, fostering collaboration and mutual success.
• Develop comprehensive project and program cost models that facilitate fact-based financial management, including the assessment of savings, necessary investments, and return on investment.
• Prepare financial estimates and complete business cases to support proposed logistics strategies and operational enhancements.
• Design and implement decision-making playbooks for logistics transitions, new operational start-ups, and major projects.
• Typically requires a University Degree and a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with a minimum of 10 years of experience, or if lacking a degree, 16 years of relevant experience.
• At least 10 years of experience in transportation, transportation provider management, or similar roles within the aerospace or manufacturing sectors.
• Expertise in logistics modeling, including transportation and warehouse network design, as well as mode and usage optimization.
• Proficient in project management, change management, and transition management.
• Strong analytical abilities with expertise in data analysis and distribution/warehouse modeling tools.
• Background in industrial engineering and scenario planning within supply chain contexts.
• Familiarity with finance and the development of business cases.
• Regional/geopolitical experience and knowledge of sustainability practices.
• Understanding of regulatory and global trade compliance.
