• Assess the accounting ramifications of potential transactions and offer insights and recommendations regarding planned and proposed agreements or transaction structures.
• Address, resolve, and make determinations on standard and/or routine inquiries related to business and accounting policy interpretations.
• Analyze contracts and agreements, investigate relevant US GAAP and SEC regulatory accounting guidance, and advise on accounting requirements for complex and/or non-standard transactions.
• Draft technical accounting memorandums and other presentation materials for significant transactions, while supporting the review process with management and external auditors.
• Assist in the implementation of new accounting standards and revisions.
• Develop essential accounting deliverables for acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic transactions.
• Generate specific financial reporting deliverables for reporting to RTX.
• Integrate, uphold, and communicate accounting policies for both Pratt & Whitney and RTX Corporation (RTX). Aid in drafting new and updated accounting policies.
• Collaborate with and present to internal and external auditors, cross-functional departments, and business units throughout Pratt & Whitney and RTX.
• Support the Assistant Controller and/or Controller with ad hoc projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field with a minimum of 12+ years of relevant work experience; OR an advanced degree with 10+ years of applicable work experience.
• CPA is highly preferred.
• Strong technical accounting background with comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP and SEC regulations, along with extensive practical experience in applying accounting concepts, including revenue recognition, collaborations, leasing, goodwill, intangible assets, internal use software, and business combinations.
• Experience with Big 4 audit or advisory firms is strongly preferred.
• Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical and problem-solving abilities, including technical research skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; capable of clearly and succinctly documenting and effectively conveying complex accounting issues to both Finance and Non-Finance personnel.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects with conflicting priorities and tight deadlines.
• Capability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, both domestically and internationally.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work autonomously.
