Associate Director, Scientific Affairs

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Create top-tier medical and scientific content that meets the highest standards of editorial excellence, while adhering to adult learning principles and interprofessional education standards.

• Assist in grant planning and development, including educational designs, formats, and execution strategies, to achieve departmental objectives and address unmet educational and research demands that support strategic planning for upcoming initiatives.

• Build and sustain relationships with key healthcare leaders across various practice settings to gather expert insights and opinions regarding educational program needs and grant development opportunities.

• Contribute to the measurement outcomes of impactful educational programs, involving measurement planning, survey instrument creation, program evaluations, and sharing of outcome findings with external stakeholders.

• Create and contribute to scientific articles, abstracts, and presentations based on outcomes to showcase the company’s services and products.

• Communicate effectively to ensure a smooth workflow, articulating opportunities, needs, ideas, and timelines to align with the company’s and department’s objectives for ongoing growth and success.

• Proactively identify and resolve issues related to instructional design elements during content development, providing timely recommendations to the Executive Director of Scientific Affairs.

• Review content prepared by other medical writers and freelancers, offering guidance and revisions to ensure clinical accuracy and relevance.

• Engage in decisions related to the PRIME ® model of learning and its implementation processes to ensure effective execution of the learning model.

• Participate in regular meetings of the Scientific Affairs Department, including grant and content planning sessions.

• Perform additional tasks as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of a Master’s degree (PhD preferred) in a scientific, communications, or related field.

• At least 4 years of experience in designing and developing continuing medical education (CME/CE) activities for healthcare professionals is preferred.

• Experience in creating CME/CE activities funded by pharmaceutical companies and government grants or contracts is preferred.

• Experience in training, project management, and/or staff supervision within a team-oriented office environment is preferred.

• Exceptional ability to work independently and manage multiple high-level responsibilities and projects accurately and efficiently.

• Capability to independently research, design, and develop high-quality scientific grant and medical writing aligned with the specified duties of the position.

• Ability to conduct literature reviews and analyze scientific/medical research independently to apply accurate concepts to product development.

• Strong analytical and didactic skills to complete medical writing in compliance with AMA guidelines and grant development procedures independently.

• Proficient in organizing and clearly conveying educational designs and deliverables effectively and accurately.

• Strong analytical thinking skills with the ability to present complex data results in a clear and concise manner.

• Capability to gather data from credible sources for grant development.

• Possess creative and visionary abilities to identify and implement innovative educational program designs and formats.

• Up-to-date knowledge of the healthcare industry, including pharmaceutical pipelines, healthcare policies, and the continuing education industry.

• Experience in developing content in various disease areas, including oncology, diabetes, endocrinology, neurology, rheumatology, cardiology, ophthalmology, dermatology, respiratory issues, pain management, mental health, women’s health, gastroenterology, hepatology, infectious diseases, or immune-mediated inflammatory diseases.

• Excellent English language proficiency, both written and verbal.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Endnote, or other reference management applications.
