This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Conduct investigations into potential breaches of U.S. and international export control laws and regulations.
• Prepare disclosures to U.S. and international government entities concerning violations of export control laws.
• Oversee and manage an active caseload of investigations utilizing RTX’s matter management system.
• Collaborate with members of Collins Aerospace’s wider Global Trade team to pinpoint the root causes of regulatory and policy breaches and to devise effective corrective measures.
• Update Corporate and Collins Aerospace leadership on the current status of ongoing global trade investigations.
• Record the resolution of matters that do not raise reasonable suspicion of a regulatory breach.
• Address governmental inquiries and fulfill data requests.
• Contribute to the development, implementation, enhancement, and maintenance of policies, standard operating procedures, and processes for global trade compliance at Collins Aerospace and RTX.
• Evaluate and audit employee adherence to company policies and government regulations.
• Educate and advise employees on regulatory and policy requirements.
• Conduct data searches within company systems, generate reports, and analyze data and trends to uncover compliance vulnerabilities and formulate actionable improvement strategies.
• Manage specific projects, including overseeing and coordinating tasks with members of the Central GT I&D Team.
• Generally requires a University Degree and a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with at least 10 years of experience.
• A minimum of 10 years of legal experience in Global Trade.
• Comprehensive understanding of the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
• Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated project and team management capabilities.
• Proficient in drafting extensive submissions clearly, concisely, and coherently under tight deadlines.
• Advanced skills in Excel and data analytics.
• Must exhibit strong leadership qualities and be an effective individual contributor, possessing excellent judgment and professional maturity.
• Proven ability to:
• Handle multiple tasks and prioritize conflicting deadlines while swiftly adapting to sudden and unexpected requirements, including occasional needs outside regular business hours.
• Provide timely and effective guidance, partner with stakeholders, and offer practical solutions to business challenges, including the ability to propose creative yet compliant solutions to meet business goals.
• Confidently train stakeholders and present to senior management.
• Work independently with minimal daily oversight and achieve results in a setting with limited supervision.
• Maintain composure under pressure in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing demands, while remaining collegial amidst disagreements and stakeholder resistance.
• Exhibit a continual willingness to learn, stay open-minded to alternative and innovative solutions, and accept candid, real-time feedback from multiple stakeholders.
• Previous experience in the aerospace and defense industry.
