Associate Director – Fund Accounting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Lead the close ended practice as a senior executive, managing people, operations, client relationships, and strategic direction within the Close Ended NAV function.

• Oversee team performance, capacity planning, coaching, training initiatives, and succession strategies.

• Manage financial oversight and budget responsibilities in collaboration with the COO.

• Supervise NAV issuance, expense management, management fee calculations, and investor allocations for close ended funds.

• Facilitate client onboarding by establishing fund structures and ensuring efficient processes.

• Act as the primary contact for client communications, coordinating annual audit procedures.

• Continuously evaluate and enhance operational processes for improved efficiency and alignment with strategic objectives.

• Identify operational risks and ensure compliance with SOC controls and regulatory standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in close ended fund administration or a comparable financial services role.

• Strong emphasis on NAV calculations, investor allocations, financial reporting, and audit coordination.

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

• Professional certification (CFA, CAIA, CPA, or equivalent) is highly desirable.

• Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills, including experience with diverse, cross-functional teams.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities for engagement with senior clients, auditors, and internal stakeholders.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven history of identifying process inefficiencies and implementing improvements.

• Expertise in fund systems such as Investran, Bloomberg, eFront, Geneva, Dynamo, or similar close ended fund administration platforms.

• Advanced Excel capabilities including complex financial models, automated templates, pivot tables, XLOOKUP, and macros.

• Solid understanding of closed-ended and open-ended fund structures, capital calls, distributions, IRR, and MOIC.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of SQL or other data analysis tools is advantageous.

• Strong foundation in US GAAP, IFRS, and regulatory standards relevant to close ended funds.

• Familiarity with AI tools such as Claude is a plus.
