This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Switzerland.
• Develops, executes, and oversees effective multi-year strategies and plans for the cultivation and solicitation of gift prospects.
• Understands and applies intricate principles for formulating donor strategies.
• Establishes strong relationships with a portfolio of new and existing donors and prospects.
• Cultivates donors from annual contributions to major or planned gifts.
• Responsible for making direct requests to both global and local priorities to satisfy funding requirements.
• Discusses assets adeptly and identifies opportunities for gifts of assets or other non-cash contributions, including planned gifts and trade lands.
• Integrates blended gifts and gifts of assets in proposals directed to donors.
• Possesses a solid understanding of organizational budgets and effectively utilizes this knowledge to construct proposal budgets.
• Has insight into charitable giving, particularly concerning private foundations, operating foundations, and Donor Advised Funds.
• Collaborates across chapters and programs while managing a referral network.
• Supports chapter leadership as a moves manager when appropriate.
• Manages assigned trustee relationships and/or engages with volunteers.
• Required to utilize the Conservancy’s donor database.
• Willing to travel frequently and on short notice, working long hours and weekends as necessary.
• Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience in building and maintaining long-term relationships with constituents, such as major donors and corporations.
• Demonstrated experience in soliciting and securing gifts of $75,000 or more, including planned gifts.
• Experience in managing and tracking multiple prospects and donors simultaneously.
• Familiarity with fundraising principles and practices.
• Experience, coursework, or other training in current and emerging trends in charitable giving, particularly in capital campaigns, major gifts, and planned giving.
• Multi-lingual skills and multicultural or cross-cultural experience are valued.
