• Assists in identifying and prioritizing deliverables across clinical departments (including Medical Writing, Biostatistics, Drug Safety, Clinical Science), organizes cross-functional teams, and monitors progress against objectives and timelines.
• Understands and provides guidance on functional priorities within the framework of achieving larger organizational success.
• Aids in business planning activities such as budget reviews, resource forecasting, and goal assessments.
• Facilitates business data collection and analysis, helps monitor delivery against corporate and departmental objectives, and collaborates with Department Heads during Quarterly Business Reviews.
• Resolves issues by utilizing an understanding of business and functional relationships to mobilize the appropriate people and solutions.
• Dedicates time to connect individuals and teams both within and across functions throughout the organization.
• Acts as a strategic partner for vision and goal setting, collaborating with teams to drive functional short-to-long-term business planning and execution.
• Ensures Department meetings remain productive with focused agendas and objectives. Takes minutes, tracks deliverables, and follows up as necessary.
• Anticipates the needs of the CMO and Department Heads, initiating actions and discussions that enhance team success.
• Assists the CMO and Department Heads in balancing functional needs with organizational priorities.
• Offers advice on innovative approaches to address organizational needs and complex challenges within Departments and the wider organization.
• Identifies opportunities to harness synergies and eliminate redundancies, driving operational excellence and aiding in expenditure control.
• Collaborates with the PMO team to synchronize priorities, processes, and tools.
• Represents the Clinical Organization in relevant meetings and committees.
• Must comply with Iovance Biotherapeutics’ core values, policies, procedures, and business ethics.
• Performs miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification (a background in life sciences, learning sciences, or another relevant healthcare discipline is preferred; an advanced degree such as an MBA is also preferred).
• At least 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly within a drug development organization focusing on Business and Project Management is preferred.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation abilities.
• Strong, proven project management skills and a high degree of organization.
• Skilled at building positive, transparent, and productive relationships.
• Quickly adapts to rapidly changing business needs.
• Takes the initiative to creatively tackle a wide range of complex problems.
• Demonstrated ability to question existing business standards and processes while proposing innovative solutions.
• Possesses an enterprise mindset and can clearly relate functional activities to the broader organizational context.
• Proficient in the following core business management areas:
• Experience managing cross-functional initiatives and/or business operations programs.
• Capable of developing and implementing change management and communication strategies.
• Experience in clinical development/operations is preferred.
• Familiarity with Quality functions and processes is desired.
• Broad understanding of organizational and business dynamics.
• Coursework or additional training in business or project management is preferred (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma, Lean, Design Thinking, Agile methodology, etc.).
