This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Perform self-assessment reviews for Cyber Essentials based on the current IASME question set and make certification decisions within specified service levels.
• Conduct Cyber Essentials Plus technical audits, which include vulnerability scanning, authenticated scans, sample device testing, validation of multi-factor authentication, and checks for malware protection.
• Create clear and defensible assessment reports along with certification recommendations.
• Assist client technical contacts in remediation when gaps are identified, ensuring to avoid drifting into paid consultancy during the certification process.
• Keep evidence and audit trails in compliance with IASME Certification Body standards.
• Engage in internal calibration sessions to maintain consistent assessment quality across the panel.
• Provide support for related work in IASME Cyber Assurance Level 1 and Level 2 and ISO 27001 readiness, when capacity and interest permit.
• Currently hold or have recently held an IASME assessor license for Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus, or possess equivalent hands-on delivery experience with a willingness to obtain a license under Intelance.
• At least three years of experience delivering Cyber Essentials Plus technical audits within the UK market.
• Strong understanding of the five Cyber Essentials controls, the current question set, and common interpretation edge cases.
• Hands-on experience with vulnerability scanning tools utilized for Cyber Essentials Plus.
• Comfortable engaging directly with client IT and security leads, including subject matter experts and enterprise CISO teams.
• Must be based in the UK and possess the right to work in the UK.
• Capable of operating outside IR35 through a limited company, or willing to engage in a compliant manner.
• Open to being publicly listed as an Associate Assessor of Intelance, including on LinkedIn, while part of the panel.
• Excellent written English skills; reports should be client-ready without requiring extensive editing.
• Desirable: ISO 27001 Lead Implementer or Lead Auditor certification.
• Experience with IASME Cyber Assurance, NIST CSF, or SOC 2 readiness is preferred.
• Sector expertise in financial services, healthcare, SaaS, or private equity-backed mid-market is a plus.
