Associate Counsel – Technology and Indirect Sourcing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Operates autonomously to draft, assess, and modify agreements, including standardized contracts for regular sales operations.

• Collaborates with Sourcing, Sales, and the IT department to provide guidance on the evaluation of intricate IT vendor contracts and digital product agreements.

• Create and assist in the development of playbooks and templates to ensure consistent legal review across IT, security interactions, and technology agreements.

• Support the assessment of data processing agreements.

• Ensure alignment with IT and organizational strategies.

• Identify when complex legal and factual matters need to be escalated to senior attorneys and aid in resolving these issues.

• Help in designing, implementing, and managing systems that facilitate the efficient drafting, negotiation, oversight, and finalization of Avantor’s agreements.

• Coordinate contract negotiations involving various cross-departmental functions.

• Secure all requisite internal approvals for contract terms and provisions.

• Spot opportunities for process enhancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 - 10 years of relevant professional experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.

• Proven ability to manage multiple matters concurrently while meeting tight deadlines.

• Proficient in translating technical concepts into actionable legal advice for cross-functional teams.

• Exhibits excellent judgment.

• Demonstrates strong collaboration skills.

• Proactively initiates, embraces, and drives change in a fast-paced environment.

• Functions effectively both independently and as part of a team.

• Experienced in providing timely and strategic legal counsel.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree required from an accredited law school.

• Must be admitted to practice law and in good standing with the bar of at least one US State or the District of Columbia.
