This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Assume primary responsibility for a dynamic first-party litigation docket from start to finish.
• Manage caseload independently through all stages of litigation, with assistance, support, and strategic guidance as required.
• Defend against first-party bad faith lawsuits related to commercial property, business income, residential property, UM/UIM coverage, Stowers, excess judgment, and other coverage disputes.
• Formulate and implement litigation strategies in collaboration with client representatives from large, national insurance carriers.
• Foster strong client relationships through effective communication, responsiveness, and delivering results.
• Prepare pleadings, motions, written discovery, and client reports.
• Conduct depositions, attend hearings, engage in settlement discussions, and oversee litigation until final resolution.
• Handle multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
• Develop trial skills and advance an insurance litigation career towards partnership and business development.
• Active license to practice law in Texas.
• Over 5 years of experience in litigating first-party insurance disputes.
• Exceptional legal research, writing, litigation strategy, and advocacy skills.
• Significant experience in drafting pleadings, motions, written discovery, and client reports in insurance disputes.
• Proficient in depositions, attending hearings, engaging in settlement discussions, and managing all aspects of litigation through to final resolution.
• Strong organizational skills with the capability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Proactive approach and confidence to lead cases while appreciating the value of collaboration.
• Experience in first-party insurance litigation, ideally involving property coverages.
