Associate Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Represents the Company in state courts where licensed, utilizing case management software for litigation.

• Acts on behalf of the Company and its affiliates in legal matters, gathering facts and evidence, conducting trials, and performing various litigation tasks.

• Ensures precise and timely case management by drafting legal documents, devising strategies, and engaging in necessary discussions with defendants, opposing counsel, and court personnel.

• Represents the Company at various legal proceedings including scheduling conferences, mediations, settlement conferences, depositions, hearings, and trials.

• Guarantees adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and company policies within areas of organizational responsibility.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor Degree is mandatory.

• Must be an active member of the bar in Texas.

• A minimum of 2 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent qualification.

• Previous litigation experience is essential, including the preparation and drafting of pleadings, involvement in all discovery phases, and trial handling.

• Knowledge of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Truth-In-Lending Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, and other federal and state laws related to consumer credit and collections is required.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact effectively with stakeholders across various levels.

• Strong organizational, time-management, and interpersonal skills, along with a keen attention to detail.

• Capability to assess and analyze the implications of multiple issues on a situation, providing sound business judgment.

• Proficient in researching, reading, analyzing, and interpreting statutes, case law, professional journals, technical procedures, and regulatory guidelines.

• Ability to deliver well-researched, accurate, and practical legal advice promptly.

• Competence in developing, enhancing, and standardizing procedures.
