This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +2 more states.
• Candidate must be prepared to bill a minimum number of draft/review hours and respond to petitions/complaints, motions, and written discovery.
• Attend hearings and client meetings as needed.
• Prepare for and participate in depositions.
• Assist in the preparation for mediations and trials.
• A valid bar license in good standing from PA, NJ, or NY is required for this position.
• A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA accredited law school is necessary.
• 3 to 10+ years of experience in civil defense litigation, ideally within general liability, labor and employment, property and casualty, or any insurance defense litigation.
• Previous experience should encompass managing up to 25+ cases simultaneously, attending and defending depositions, taking depositions, court appearances, and drafting motions and discovery; mediation and trial experience is a plus but not mandatory.
• Computer proficiency: Basic knowledge of computer operations, internet software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software is required; familiarity with Microsoft products is preferred. Capability to type and use office equipment is essential.
• A self-motivated individual who can work independently and possesses excellent client communication skills.
• Oral Communication: Able to speak clearly and persuasively in various situations; listens attentively and seeks clarification; responds well to inquiries; participates in meetings when necessary.
• Written Communication: Capable of writing clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar; adapts writing style to suit different needs; effectively presents numerical data; able to read and interpret written content.
• Temperament: Capable of working with minimal supervision; prioritizes and anticipates work requirements; performs well under occasional pressure and tight deadlines.
• Ethics: Maintains confidentiality of client and firm information at all times; understands and applies the general ethical standards relevant to lawyers.
