Associate Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Must be prepared and capable of billing a minimum draft/review and addressing petitions/complaints, motions, and written discovery.

• Attend hearings and meetings with clients as requested.

• Prepare for and participate in depositions.

• Provide assistance in preparing for mediations and trials.

• This position necessitates a PA, NJ, or NY bar license in good standing.

• A minimum of a JD from an ABA accredited law school is required.

• 3-10+ years of experience in civil defense litigation is preferred, especially in General liability, Labor and employment, property and casualty, or any insurance defense litigation.

• Previous experience should include managing up to 25+ cases simultaneously, attending and defending depositions, conducting depositions, appearing in court, and drafting motions and discovery; mediation and trial experience is an advantage but not mandatory.

• Computer skills: Basic knowledge of computer operations, internet software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software is necessary; familiarity with Microsoft products is preferred.

• Ability to type and manage office equipment.

• Must be self-motivated and a self-starter, capable of working independently, and possess strong client communication skills.

• Oral Communication: Speaks clearly and persuasively in both positive and negative situations; listens attentively and seeks clarification; responds well to inquiries; participates in meetings as required.

• Written Communication: Writes clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar; adjusts writing style to suit different needs; presents numerical data effectively; able to read and interpret written information accurately.

• Temperament: Capable of working with minimal supervision; prioritizes and anticipates work needs; performs well under occasional pressure and tight deadlines.

• Ethics: Maintains confidentiality of client and firm information at all times; understands and applies general ethical behavior standards applicable to lawyers.
