Associate Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Draft, review, and respond to petitions, complaints, motions, and written discovery.

• Attend hearings and client meetings upon request.

• Prepare for and participate in depositions.

• Assist in preparation for and/or engage in mediation and trial.

• Must be willing and capable of billing.

• Perform any additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active California bar license in good standing.

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

• At least 2+ years of experience in civil defense litigation, ideally in areas such as General Liability, Mass Tort, Toxic Tort, Construction Defect, Labor and Employment, and/or insurance defense litigation.

• Prior experience managing up to 20 cases simultaneously, taking and defending depositions, court appearances, and drafting motions and discovery materials.

• Mediation and trial experience is a significant advantage.

• Experience in mentoring junior Associates is highly desirable.

• Basic proficiency in computer operations, internet applications, spreadsheet software, and word processing software; proficiency in Microsoft products is preferred.

• Self-motivated and proactive, able to work independently with strong communication skills with clients.

• Communicates clearly and persuasively; actively listens and seeks clarification; responds effectively to questions; engages in meetings.

• Writes clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar; varies writing style; effectively presents numerical data.
