Associate Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Dakota.

📋 Description

• Oversee and manage a substantial and varied caseload of the Firm’s clients in South Dakota.

• Engage with clients regarding their individual legal matters.

• Prepare pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and agreements.

• Liaise with opposing parties to negotiate or settle claims.

• Perform legal research on both straightforward and complex issues related to contract law and other aspects of consumer law.

• Interact with the New York headquarters solely via telephone and electronic communication, including email and Microsoft Teams.

• Travel for court appearances as needed.

• Must be currently licensed to practice law in South Dakota.

• At least 1 year of pertinent experience in a law firm setting.

• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities to adhere to tight deadlines.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

• Highest standards of ethical conduct and professional integrity.

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with senior management and staff at all levels.

• Proficient legal research capabilities.

• Familiarity with LexisNexis is advantageous.

• Must reside within South Dakota.

• Willingness to manage a demanding workload.

• Experience in drafting pleadings and legal memoranda.
