
Assistant Vice President – Data Governance, Data Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pakistan.
• Establish and execute data quality policies, standards, and procedures that align with the bank’s data governance framework.
• Collaborate with both business and technology teams to identify critical data elements (CDEs) and create data quality rules.
• Propel data quality enhancement initiatives across retail, corporate, international, treasury, support, and control functions.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry best practices regarding data quality.
• Design and implement measurement frameworks for data quality that encompass accuracy, completeness, timeliness, consistency, and validity.
• Lead the creation of data quality dashboards and reports to monitor trends and issues.
• Identify, evaluate, and resolve data quality problems through root cause analysis and corrective action plans.
• Collaborate with technology teams to apply automated data quality controls and monitoring solutions.
• Serve as a data quality subject matter expert across business, risk, finance, compliance, and technology teams.
• Partner with data stewards, data owners, and data engineers to uphold data quality standards.
• Assist business teams in integrating data quality requirements into their operational processes.
• Conduct training and awareness sessions focused on best practices for data quality.
• Work with technology teams to incorporate data quality tools within the bank’s data architecture.
• Utilize AI/ML-driven data quality solutions for data profiling and anomaly detection.
• Assess and recommend new data quality tools and technologies.
• Significant experience in data-related projects or programs.
• Strong knowledge in metadata management and implementation of data governance.
• Practical experience with data management standards such as DAMA within a banking context.
• Profound understanding of data governance policies, standards, metrics, controls, and processes.
• Awareness of legal, compliance, and regulatory issues affecting data, including geographic restrictions on data storage and data centers.
• Experience in identifying data assets, defining data ownership, and creating usage and access-control policies.
• Proficient in data domain discovery, data classification, taxonomy, and hierarchies that support data catalog architecture.
• Ability to create or improve business glossaries in collaboration with business analysts and stakeholders.
• Extensive knowledge in designing and developing data catalogs, such as Microsoft Purview.
• Experience in integrating and maintaining data dictionaries, business glossaries, and data catalogs.
• Capability to facilitate metadata capture as part of change and operational deliverables.
• Hands-on experience with Informatica Data Governance tools, including EDC, Axon, and DEQ.
• Experience in planning and managing data governance tool implementation projects.
• Background in running data governance committees.
• Ability to effectively communicate the value and impact of data governance to business stakeholders through demonstrations and presentations.
