This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
β’ Underwrites both new and renewal business.
β’ Authorizes changes to policies.
β’ Manages workload and oversees written business up to and including the binding stage in accordance with Company guidelines.
β’ Leads a production and underwriting team.
β’ Delivers exceptional professional service to Agents and Companies.
β’ Achieves or surpasses production targets assigned by Management.
β’ Supervises team(s) to ensure that all relevant information is effectively communicated.
β’ Cultivates and maintains strong relationships with clients.
β’ Promotes all program products and services to clients.
β’ Communicates effectively and promptly with all producers regarding submissions and decisions on new or renewal business.
β’ Evaluates and makes decisions on endorsement requests in line with internal and Company guidelines.
β’ Oversees accounts to ensure adherence to the firm's policies and procedures.
β’ Tracks production metrics, hit ratios, renewal retention ratios, risk distribution, and other quality measures to mitigate risks and forecast future success.
β’ Reviews and appropriately manages policy servicing requests.
β’ Meets or exceeds documentation standards, adheres to underwriting authority levels, and successfully passes all internal and external audits.
β’ Maintains the necessary licenses to conduct business.
β’ Bachelor's degree or relevant insurance designation.
β’ Minimum of five years' experience as an active Underwriter or seven years' experience in the insurance industry.
β’ Must hold valid licenses in relevant areas of insurance as required.
β’ Ability to comprehend and analyze essential components of insurance policies.
β’ Capable of understanding client needs and knowledgeable about associated risk profiles.
β’ Ability to identify new trends and developments in the insurance sector and integrate them into strategic plans.
β’ Proficient in commercial multi-line underwriting and rating.
β’ Competent in using company automation tools, including Windows, Delphi, Word, DocuCorp, and Rackley ISO Rating Software.
β’ Skilled at developing, nurturing, and sustaining strong working relationships with agencies.
β’ Possess leadership qualities and teamwork abilities.
β’ Exercise sound judgment in decision-making.
β’ Stay updated with current knowledge of the insurance industry.
β’ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
β’ Willingness to travel based on client, Agent, and new business requirements.
β’ Ability to work extended hours when necessary.
