This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +7 more states.
• Act as the primary Site Manager during the off rotation of the designated Site Manager.
• Support the creation of work scopes for evaluation and authorization.
• Aid in the formulation and oversight of project timelines.
• Generate estimates for self-performed tasks and assist in comprehensive project estimations.
• Serve as Site Manager for smaller projects valued under $5 million when necessary.
• Oversee various divisions of work while managing all construction methods and practices.
• Gather pricing from subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers; assist in the selection of bidders, negotiations, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
• Compile cost-to-complete reports, monthly invoices, status updates, and progress-tracking documents.
• Review and keep up-to-date architectural, structural, shop, and other relevant drawings.
• Analyze specifications and develop construction processes, timelines, workforce requirements, and project phases.
• Assist in identifying staffing requirements and selecting subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
• Support pricing tasks, drafting modifications and change orders, while ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Coordinate and oversee construction activities on-site from pre-startup through to completion.
• Schedule subcontractors and ascertain materials, equipment, tools, and supply sources.
• Establish and finalize construction site setups.
• Uphold and maintain safety and quality standards in accordance with company and industry regulations.
• Act as the on-site safety leader in the absence of an assigned safety representative; halt work, discipline team members, and remove individuals or subcontractors if necessary.
• Make prompt safety and quality decisions and address issues while considering financial implications.
• Acquire tools and materials for delivery in alignment with work schedules.
• Direct supervisors and subcontractors in planning and executing tasks, interpreting specifications, and coordinating construction phases.
• Address workforce complaints and grievances.
• Evaluate progress, materials, and cost reports, adjusting schedules as needed.
• Provide expert guidance for designated divisions of work.
• Meet with clients and relay requested changes to the Site Manager and Project Manager.
• Collaborate with city officials, OSHA representatives, and inspectors.
• Ensure that necessary inspections and documentation are completed.
• Communicate, implement, and uphold Gray's on-site safety program.
• Train, assign tasks, direct, reward, and discipline team members; manage complaints and resolve issues.
• An Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, along with a minimum of three years of construction experience, OR at least five years of related construction experience with increasing responsibilities in lieu of a degree.
• Prior experience in the light/heavy industrial sector is highly desirable, particularly within the food and beverage industry.
• Exceptional leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal/contractual documents.
• Strong skills in people management.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, as well as tablets and smartphones.
• Familiarity with MS Project and other scheduling software is an advantage.
• Strong work ethic; proactive, self-driven, and collaborative.
• Capability to think independently and operate without direct supervision.
• Willingness to travel to project sites across the United States and occasionally outside the U.S.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including frequently lifting/moving up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
• Willingness to work in wet/humid conditions, around moving mechanical parts, in outdoor weather, at heights, and with exposure to fumes, extreme temperatures, electrical risks, explosives, vibration, and moderate to loud noise levels.
