This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• The full-time online social work faculty member will instruct students in social work across the entire curriculum.
• Faculty play a vital role in preparing future social workers by providing professional insights, mentoring, and demonstrating the integration of faith with social work values, equipping students with the essential knowledge, skills, and values for service to individuals, families, and communities.
• Courses will be delivered from a biblical perspective, aligning with the university's mission to make a positive impact for Christ, while adhering to the Council on Social Work Education’s (CSWE) Educational Policies and Accreditation Standards (EPAS).
• The faculty member may engage in student advising, curriculum development, and the CSWE accreditation process, in addition to participating in departmental, professional, university, and scholarly activities.
• The full-time online faculty member will oversee up to 30 students per section taught.
• He or she will interact with students through virtual class sessions and through weekly announcements, emails, videos, grading feedback, and discussion board forums.
• The professor is expected to respond to emails within 24 hours and provide substantive feedback on students’ assignments within six days of submission.
• The professor will also undertake administrative duties as assigned by their supervisor, Instructional Mentor, Faculty Support Coordinator, Chair, or Associate Dean.
• Administrative responsibilities may include roster verification, reporting items, and timely submission of final grades.
• Professors will: Deliver educational content from the approved curriculum according to the assigned schedule to promote student success.
• Support students in achieving their learning objectives and outcomes.
• Provide consistent and timely feedback to students.
• Engage in school retention initiatives by maintaining communication with students and offering support to those who are absent.
• Advise students regarding academic matters and attendance.
• Encourage students to actively engage in all aspects of their educational journey.
• Maintain and report student grades and attendance in compliance with university policies.
• Address any issues related to individual student performance, professionalism, readiness for fieldwork or profession, academic dishonesty, and other gatekeeping concerns, while communicating with fellow faculty and department leadership about such matters.
• Provide feedback to the Subject Matter Expert and/or department leadership regarding course content and student learning as part of the program’s continuous improvement process.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Hold an MSW from a CSWE-accredited program with five years of post-masters practice experience.
• Have two years of online/hybrid teaching experience in social work or a related field, or two years of professional training and consultation in social work.
• Exhibit strengths in teaching at the collegiate level.
• Understand and articulate social work principles from a biblical perspective.
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to complete required tasks accurately and on time with minimal supervision.
• Collaborate effectively (virtually) with colleagues, faculty, and staff in the department.
• Show excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
• Utilize creative, innovative, and problem-solving abilities.
• Have basic competency in Microsoft Office 365 (e.g., Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Preferred qualifications include: a doctoral degree in social work or a related field.
• A Social Work Clinical License is also preferred.
• Experience teaching within the framework of CSWE standards is beneficial.
• Experience in teaching social work practice or research courses is an asset.
• Experience teaching social work from a biblical worldview is advantageous.
• Familiarity with learning management systems, preferably Canvas, is preferred.
• Experience teaching online social work courses that include synchronous components is desirable.
• Full Time Online faculty are contracted for 12 months.
