Assistant Manager – Technology, Middleware & Platforms

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pakistan.

📋 Description

• Facilitate assistance for critical production challenges.

• Provide expertise in system administration capabilities.

• Install, configure, deploy, manage, and monitor IBM API Connect in both cloud and on-premises virtual machines.

• Oversee the health of the IBM API Connect environment, monitor API performance, and ensure availability.

• Participate in and lead incident resolution discussions and root cause analyses.

• Analyze logs to detect issues within IBM API Connect.

• Configure and implement backup and restoration processes for IBM API Connect subsystems and configuration data.

• Maintain CI/CD pipelines for the building and deployment of APIs.

• Manage API lifecycles across various API Catalogs via the API Management Portal.

• Support consumers by creating users, groups, roles, and establishing security configurations.

• Modify the configuration of the IBM API Connect Developer Portal, including Drupal themes and content presentation.

• Enable integration of third-party tools, such as Elastic, to capture analytics events for customer dashboards.

• Construct advanced searches in Splunk and set up monitoring and failure alerts.

• Configure security for API Connect using TLS Profiles and native OAuth2 mechanisms.

• Apply maintenance patches, interim releases, and upgrades as necessary.

• Provide technical architecture information and support technical discovery sessions.

• Assist architects and team leads by addressing architecture, infrastructure, and security inquiries.

• Address hardware specifications, networking demands, and storage sizing.

• Collaborate with IBM Technical Support and IBM Technical Sales to verify, discuss, and resolve issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in the relevant application domain and support line.

• Experience in installing, configuring, deploying, administering, and monitoring IBM API Connect in both Cloud and On-Premises VMs.

• Proven track record in monitoring the health, performance, and availability of the IBM API Connect environment.

• Experience in leading and participating in incident resolution calls and root cause analysis.

• Proficiency in analyzing logs within IBM API Connect.

• Experience in configuring and implementing backup and restoration for IBM API Connect subsystems and configuration data.

• Expertise in maintaining CI/CD pipelines for building and deploying APIs in IBM API Connect.

• Familiarity with using the API Management Portal to manage API lifecycles across multiple API Catalogs.

• Experience in consumer maintenance, including the creation of users, groups, roles, and security configurations.

• Ability to modify IBM API Connect Developer Portal configuration, including Drupal themes and content.

• Experience in enabling third-party tools such as Elastic for capturing analytics events and creating customer dashboards.

• Expertise in Splunk, including advanced query construction and alerting configuration.

• Experience in configuring IBM API Connect security using TLS Profiles and native OAuth2 mechanisms.

• Experience in applying product maintenance patches, interim releases, and upgrades.

• Proven ability to deliver technical architecture insights and support technical discovery sessions.

• Knowledge of hardware specifications, networking requirements, and storage sizing for IBM API Connect.

• Experience in interacting with IBM Technical Support and IBM Technical Sales.

• Ability to execute all phases of the software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, functionality, testing, and support.
