Assistant Manager, Fund Administration – Accounting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Assist in making key decisions regarding team expansion and the development of operational policies and procedures.

• Establish and facilitate the execution of fund administration processes, incorporating best practices and efficiency improvements.

• Recognize opportunities for product development and relay technical and product feedback to the product development teams.

• Support the training and management of a team of fund accountants.

• Directly engage with clients to ensure an exceptional client experience.

• Act as a technical accounting authority and principal advisor on critical business and accounting matters for the team.

• Review and conduct accounting, analytical, and financial reporting tasks; guarantee that client and investor reports are prepared and delivered accurately and on time.

• Examine investor allocations used to create investor statements, waterfall calculations, and capital calls and distributions in compliance with clients’ Limited Partnership Agreements.

• Compile and assess asset- and fund-level performance metrics (IRRs, TVPI, etc.).

• Aid in the preparation, compilation, and verification of external client and regulatory reports.

• Generate and review financial details for stockholders/investor reports.

• Support annual audits, including the preparation and evaluation of the initial draft of the annual audit report along with related schedules and disclosures; assist with the Prepared By Client (PBC) list and tax returns.

• Conduct research and assist in understanding the implications of recent accounting changes.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in fund accounting or auditing with familiarity in Private Equity, Venture Capital, Private Credit, and/or Real Estate funds.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline.

• Familiarity with intricate fund structures, waterfall calculations, performance metrics (IRRs), and the calculations for distributions and capital calls.

• Experience in annual reporting (audited financial statements).

• Enthusiasm for technology and a commitment to leveraging technology to enhance business operations.

• Proven experience in defining system requirements and implementing new systems.

• A strategic thinker able to grasp both the finer details and the overarching vision.

• Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.

• Comfortable navigating ambiguity, demonstrating a strong work ethic, and taking ownership of responsibilities.
