Assistant Lecturer – Remote Pilot in Aviation Science

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Instructing designated aviation remote pilot courses through both in-person and hybrid formats.

• Creating and updating course syllabi, instructional materials, and assessments that align with program goals and university standards for CEUs.

• Maintaining regular office hours as per the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) policy.

• Timely submission of syllabi, attendance records, grades, and other required documentation.

• Advising and mentoring students on their academic journeys, professional growth, and career opportunities in remote pilot aviation.

• Participating in curriculum design, course enhancement, and program development activities, ensuring alignment with FAA, industry, and institutional standards.

• Staying updated with the latest knowledge in remote pilot aviation, instructional methodologies, and industry trends.

• Fulfilling additional faculty responsibilities, including conducting assessments of learning outcomes for all courses taught to support accreditation efforts, collaborating with the Department Chair on course scheduling, attending faculty meetings at the university and college levels, serving on university committees as appointed by the Provost, Dean, or Department Chair, providing academic guidance to both prospective and current students, engaging in faculty development, and undertaking other assigned duties.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master of Science (M.S.) or Master of Arts (M.A.) in Aviation, Aerospace, Management, Leadership, Education, or a related field from an accredited institution.

• Possession of an FAA 107 Drone certificate.

• Proven ability to effectively teach at the collegiate level.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Knowledge or experience in military training programs, military drone operations, munitions, or other relevant military fields.
