Assistant General Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee a closing pipeline for lease acquisitions throughout North America and facilitate closing assistance from finance, origination, legal, and senior management teams.

• Supervise lease acquisitions handled by in-house counsel and prepare underwriting documentation for senior management review.

• Assess, structure, and aid in negotiations with renewable energy developers regarding sale leaseback and land financing opportunities.

• Support the Head of Renewables in creating new ground lease-based products aimed at assisting renewable energy developers and owner/operators.

• Contribute to the assessment of new markets, including entity formation, compliance, KYC, and the development and validation of real estate transaction structures that align with the company's underwriting and risk profile.

• Provide advice on a range of commercial and corporate issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience as a lawyer in law firms or within renewable energy development environments.

• Familiarity with renewable energy development or asset ownership.

• Strong real estate experience is preferred.

• Active member in good standing with the State Bar.

• Proficient in technology, including Office 365, Teams, SharePoint, and Salesforce.

• Willingness to travel up to 10% domestically for in-person team meetings, critical customer meetings, industry events, and annual international travel for company-wide meetings.

• Proven ability to prioritize deal flow and make sound business judgments.

• Excellent oral, written, and analytical skills.
