πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Prepare, assess, modify, and negotiate a range of commercial contracts, such as vendor agreements, servicing-related contracts, NDAs, and technology agreements.

β€’ Oversee the contract lifecycle processes, encompassing intake, tracking, and execution.

β€’ Recognize legal and regulatory risks associated with contractual agreements and suggest suitable mitigation strategies.

β€’ Offer legal counsel to servicing operations on intricate legal matters, compliance policies, and risk management.

β€’ Draft and review replies to government agencies concerning escalated consumer complaints and assist with examinations and investigations.

β€’ Compose and evaluate regulatory disclosures and customer communications.

β€’ Engage in the assessment and modification of servicing policies and procedures as well as training manuals; conduct thorough training on laws and regulations pertinent to servicing operations.

β€’ Assist in-house litigation personnel regarding issues related to servicing allegations.

β€’ Provide guidance and advice related to risk assessments (inclusive of legal risk assessments), compliance testing, internal audits, and both state and federal examinations of mortgage servicing operations.

β€’ Support the General Counsel on legal matters associated with mortgage servicing, including regulatory compliance and operational challenges.

β€’ Collaborate with external counsel as necessary.

β€’ Fulfill any additional job responsibilities as assigned by management.

β€’ Take on special projects as designated.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ Juris Doctor degree is mandatory.

β€’ Must be admitted to practice law in any state and maintain good standing.

β€’ A minimum of 2-4 years of relevant legal experience, with at least 2-3 years focused on commercial contract review, drafting, editing, and negotiation (either in a law firm or in-house).

β€’ Proven understanding of essential legal concepts, practices, and procedures within the specific area of expertise.

β€’ Familiarity with applicable federal and state mortgage servicing laws and regulations.

β€’ Strong skills in legal research, writing, and verbal communication.

β€’ Exceptional organizational capabilities with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and perform effectively under pressure.

β€’ Capacity to develop and sustain effective relationships with internal stakeholders (leadership, peers, team members) and external partners.

β€’ Ability to weigh legal risks against business objectives.

β€’ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
