This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +4 more states.
• Oversee all accounting functions, including the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
• Guarantee timely and precise financial reporting.
• Assess emerging accounting standards and regulatory modifications, advising leadership on their implications and implementation strategies.
• Establish and nurture relationships with external auditors.
• Facilitate efficient audits, maintain robust controls, and drive continuous improvement.
• Oversee treasury functions, including daily cash management, forecasting, banking relationships, and covenant oversight.
• Ensure adherence to GAAP, internal controls, and corporate accounting guidelines.
• Prepare and evaluate financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses.
• Collaborate with operations and leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and cost management initiatives.
• Lead, develop, and mentor accounting personnel.
• Work in partnership with the Controller on financial strategy, process enhancements, and special projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• CPA, either Active or Inactive.
• Prior experience as an Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, or Controller.
• Involvement in an annual financial statement audit.
• Comprehensive, hands-on knowledge across all aspects of accounting operations, including AP, AR, treasury, audits, closing processes, financial reporting, and contract review.
• Strong understanding of GAAP.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop accounting teams.
• Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Capability to leverage systems for process enhancement.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
• Preferred: Experience with an AEC firm.
• Preferred: Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future.
