Assistant Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Provide dedicated support to one of the finance teams (order to cash, procure to pay, or record to report), or offer flexible assistance across all finance teams, presenting a fantastic opportunity to learn about various facets of finance.

• Order to Cash (Accounts Receivable) - responsible for billing, collection forecasting, and applying collections to customer invoices within the accounting system.

• Procure to Pay (Accounts Payable) - serve as backup for the Accounts Payable position, handling invoice postings, preparing payables aging reports and payment proposals, managing vendor communication and follow-ups, generating daily cash flow/disbursement reports, engaging in cash flow planning, applying payments to vendor invoices in the accounting system, and assisting with bank reconciliation.

• Record to Report (Financial Reporting & Management Accounts) - manage fixed assets, general ledger activities (journal entries and reconciliations), taxation & statutory payments, conduct research on new market entries/entity setups, and assist with audits and internal controls.

• Develop strong relationships within and outside the finance department to facilitate the accurate exchange of data.

• Ensure timely and precise delivery of results for the tasks outlined in the Primary Workflow section to the Finance Team Leader, including any necessary escalations for clarification and/or decision-making.

• Maintain proactive communication with internal colleagues and external business partners.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or a minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience in accounts payable, treasury, financial reporting, general accounting, or billing/revenue/collections.

• This role is also suitable for young professionals with relevant finance experience or recent graduates with an excellent academic background, even if they lack previous work experience (although some internship or part-time experience is welcomed).

• Ability to collaborate within a small team while also being capable of working independently to achieve results.

• Basic working knowledge of local or international accounting principles, standards, and/or tax regulations.

• Proficient computer skills: o Excel o Word o MS Outlook o Experience with accounting software, preferably Oracle NetSuite (not mandatory).
