This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Develop top-quality real-time assets, including characters, environments, vehicles, weapons, and props, from initial concept to final implementation.
• Model, sculpt, texture, and optimize assets for Unreal Engine, ensuring they fulfill gameplay and performance standards.
• Work collaboratively with Design, Technical Art, Lighting, and Engineering teams to ensure assets are seamlessly integrated into gameplay systems.
• Construct and uphold clean topology, efficient UV layouts, and optimized materials appropriate for real-time rendering.
• Create project-specific materials and shaders in Unreal Engine, including parent materials and reusable functions.
• Incorporate internally developed or third-party assets into the project, ensuring consistency and adherence to technical standards.
• Assist in set dressing, world-building, and environment layout within Unreal.
• Employ Unreal tools such as Landscapes, PCG, Splines, and Blueprint-based asset setups as necessary.
• Identify and resolve technical challenges within DCC tools and Unreal Engine while maintaining artistic vision.
• Engage in look development and R&D to enhance visual fidelity while balancing performance constraints.
• Maintain documentation and standardized workflows to facilitate scalable asset production.
• Efficiently address feedback and revisions while upholding quality and performance objectives.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Over 1 year of experience creating assets for real-time games or interactive projects.
• Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in modeling and texturing for characters, environments, vehicles, and props.
• Proficient in Unreal Engine workflows related to asset implementation, material creation, and optimization.
• Advanced knowledge of DCC tools such as Maya, Blender, 3ds Max, ZBrush, Houdini, or similar software.
• Experience in optimizing assets for performance while maintaining visual quality (LODs, draw calls, texture budgets, etc.).
• Solid understanding of form, anatomy, proportion, scale, silhouette, lighting, and composition.
• Experience working with various art styles, with or without direct concept references.
• Ability to gather references and contribute to look development.
• Strong communication skills and capability to effectively receive and implement art direction.
• This is a temporary position with potential for extension based on project requirements.
