This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.
• Develop unique concepts and visual stories in collaboration with copywriters and creative leadership.
• Formulate campaign ideas that strengthen and elevate the American Cancer Society brand across various channels.
• Oversee the design and execution of static and motion assets across digital, print, and experiential platforms.
• Lead and nurture a small team of designers through effective coaching, feedback, and mentorship.
• Work in partnership with marketing, communications, and project management teams to implement brand strategy.
• Showcase creative work and the strategic rationale to senior leaders and stakeholders.
• Ensure creative outputs adhere to brand guidelines, accessibility standards, technical specifications, timelines, and budgets.
• Investigate emerging trends, technologies, and cultural insights to foster creative innovation.
• Travel occasionally, up to 20%, for team meetings, events, and video, photo, or production requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Digital Media, or a comparable field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 7–10 years of experience in an agency, design studio, or an in-house creative setting.
• A portfolio that demonstrates high-level concept development and execution of multi-channel campaigns.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
• Knowledge of design collaboration tools such as Figma and Sketch.
• Strong conceptual thinking abilities and the capacity to translate strategy into engaging visual ideas.
• Expertise in typography, layout, and brand systems.
• Proficient in storytelling through digital, print, and experiential design.
• Experience in mentoring junior designers.
• Awareness of emerging design trends, technologies, and cultural insights.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• An outstanding portfolio showcasing exceptional design and branding, paid social and digital campaigns, integrated visual brand storytelling, and creative leadership.
• Certifications in UX/UI, motion graphics, or leadership training are advantageous but not mandatory.
• Occasional travel of up to 20% may be necessary.
