This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Prepare for each session by reviewing the current online course materials.
• Adhere to the established syllabus and course outline.
• Engage with students through our online learning platform.
• Check in and contribute to the class six days a week.
• Publish the check-in schedule in the first module.
• Address inquiries within a 24-hour timeframe.
• Be attentive to students' needs and concerns.
• Assess and grade student submissions.
• Provide feedback on assignments within three business days following the module's conclusion.
• Take part in class discussions as specified in the course outline.
• Complete and submit all interim grades, as well as mid-term and final evaluations.
• Notify students who have missed class via email.
• Relay concerns to other University departments as required.
• Undertake additional instructional responsibilities as assigned by the Department Director.
• Engage in University training for teaching using Brightspace.
• A positive attitude and a solution-focused approach to effectively resolve various technical issues.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• A genuine passion for art and design, along with a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience.
• Professional experience must be directly related to the skills taught in the class.
• Proficiency in both PCs and Macs is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with relevant software programs and/or tool shop knowledge is essential.
• A BFA or MFA, in addition to previous teaching experience, is preferred.
• A master's degree is mandatory for teaching graduate-level courses.
