Development Designer – Renewables

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create site layouts, grading plans, and initial design packages utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D and PVFarm

• Assist in utility-scale renewable energy initiatives, including solar PV and battery energy storage (BESS) projects

• Analyze site constraints, grading methods, and layout alternatives to enhance project feasibility

• Collaborate with engineers to enhance designs from concept through initial development outputs

• Conduct grading design, earthwork calculations, and site planning for large-scale endeavors

• Spot design challenges early and propose practical, buildable solutions

• Coordinate with civil, structural, and electrical teams on interdisciplinary projects

• Engage with clients to refine layouts and assist in project development decisions

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate or technical degree in Engineering Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience

• Over 5 years of experience in civil design, site development, or utility-scale renewable projects

• Strong expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required

• Familiarity with PVFarm or similar layout tools is preferred

• Experience in large-scale grading, earthwork balancing, and site layout is preferred

• Background in supporting utility-scale solar, wind, or battery storage projects is preferred

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and with clients

• Capability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic consulting environment

• Must have authorization to work permanently in the United States.
