Area Sales Manager

📋 Description

• Regularly achieve or surpass set key performance indicators (KPIs) and assigned sales objectives.

• Lead, nurture, support, and inspire a team of manufacturers' sales representatives to meet specified targets.

• Create and maintain a sales pipeline along with a rolling sales forecast; review it monthly with the Regional Sales Manager.

• Leverage business insight to thoroughly evaluate the market to establish sales objectives, strategies, and initiatives; take ownership of key target customer accounts.

• Formulate an annual account sales strategy to meet the company's sales growth ambitions for the market.

• Identify key target customers, including new prospects and returning clients with growth potential; devise and execute field selling strategies for increasing sales to each target account; effectively manage sales promotions.

• Recognize and develop target segments through collaboration with internal and external business partners.

• Tailor and present sales presentations, promotional materials, and other marketing content to customers and prospects, in partnership with Socomec’s Marketing Team.

• Collaborate with the Marketing department to conduct pricing analysis and positioning.

• Work alongside the Technical Sales Support Team on technical presentations and the application of Socomec products.

• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills by working effectively at all organizational levels and building professional relationships with current and prospective clients; quickly establish credibility and trust through all interactions.

• Collaborate with distributors and customers’ engineering teams to specify Socomec products; engage in the customer design cycle.

• Enhance the level of Socomec OEM business based on a jointly developed company strategy and business plan.

• Prepare precise and competitive quotes tailored to customer requirements and relevant special initiatives.

• Exhibit a client-focused approach by proactively anticipating and addressing business needs.

• Utilize product expertise to resolve application challenges that customers may face.

• Assist OEMs in the technical design and implementation of their products through the production phase while promoting Socomec offerings.

• Communicate effectively with colleagues and clients regarding new or enhanced Socomec products and other channel opportunities; manage customer expectations through clear communication about any potential issues or delays and their implications, well in advance.

• Conduct Socomec product training sessions; provide product updates to distributors and OEMs.

• Fully leverage customer relationship management (CRM) software (i.e., Salesforce) to record all interactions with customers and prospects.

• Timely submit all reports (e.g., expenses, mileage, Salesforce, channel analysis, sales plans, etc.) as required.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university.

• A minimum of 5 years of sales experience in low voltage electrical products.

• Proven history of consistently meeting or exceeding set sales targets.

• Experience in implementing strategies and standards within the industrial electrical sector.

• Proficient in determining electrical control design needs across diverse market applications.

• Experience in effectively motivating manufacturers’ sales representatives and distributor sales professionals.

• Strong influencing and negotiation capabilities to enhance performance within the distributor channel.

• Must be highly focused, capable of working with minimal supervision, and effectively communicate regarding key performance indicators, objectives, and outcomes.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Strong interpersonal abilities, along with networking and collaboration skills.

• Must be able to tactfully and collaboratively manage multiple sales-related projects, tasks, and issues.

• Capable of organizing a complex schedule related to sales calls, meetings, and associated sales and marketing activities.

• Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software such as Salesforce.

• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

• Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment in decision-making.
